How to set a price for a used item when selling on the Internet

Explore the market to sell goods quickly and not to cheapen.

Find out the price of a new item
It is needed only as a starting point. Selling a thing at market value will not work. The buyer will prefer to purchase it in a store with a guarantee, the possibility of returning and applying the law on consumer protection.

Say you're selling a camera. If a new one costs on average 15 thousand rubles, then the chance to sell it even for 14 thousand is small: the savings for the buyer are small, and the risks that it will break in a month are high.

Go to the site where you intend to display your products, and see how many sellers want to get for analogues. Your item will fall into this list and it will look strange there if you put the price two to three times higher.

On the other hand, it is important to understand the competitive advantages of your product. If analogues are sold with scratches or without any components, then you can put the price above competitors (but still below the market). Or write an average cost and expect that the thing will sell out very quickly.

The number of competitors is also important. The more of them, the longer you will sell the item at medium and higher prices.

As a result, the keyboard, case, display, additional memory, power supply, and even a burnt-out motherboard with a memory bracket from the kit were gone. In sum, it turned out even more than I wanted for a laptop.

Set the price - half the battle. It is important to be able to justify it when buyers will bargain. You must convince the customer of the benefits. For example, to demonstrate that he will spend 40% more in the store or that it is really possible to buy an analogue cheaper on the Internet, but he is without mother-of-pearl buttons, a cover and charging.

In general, show that you know about the market situation. The buyer also knows about it, just trying to take you aback.

Decide if you are ready to bid
Writing this in the ad is definitely not worth it, but you need to answer the question for yourself. Perhaps it makes sense to add a hundred or two to the price in case of bargaining. Then you will make a discount and the buyer will melt.
